Help! I'm going to be a
teenage mother.

Finding out you are pregnant can be a big surprise, especially if you weren't planning on getting pregnant. Much like the girl in the above cartoon, some things don't turn out as you might expect. As teenagers, you have many questions and concerns for your pregnancy. What's happening to me? What's going to happen? How will my family and friends react? How will the father of the baby react? What about school? |
These are all important questions that go through your head as you think about having a baby. Having a baby is a big challenge for anyone. Being pregnant means that you have more to think of than just yourself. Your body will be adjusting to many changes, emotionally and physically.

Hopefully, you will have family and friends that are supportive and will help you through your pregnancy. Prenatal care and healthy nutrition are most important during pregnancy. Receiving these can be helpful to you and your baby. |
If you do not have a support network to help you deal with the pregnancy, free help is available. Local health clinics, community service providers, and religious organizations provide support to those needing help. |
